Clayton Middle School Physical Education Department is committed to helping students to improve their overall health and fitness levels. Everyday the students are responsible for completing a daily warm up which addresses the 4 basic components of fitness: Muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, cardiovascular fitness. The warm-ups take about 5-8 minutes to complete and are changed every Monday. In addition to daily warm-ups 1 Day per week is dedicated to improving overall fitness. When the weather is good all of the students run the mile every week. Once the weather turns bad we set up a circuit in the gym. 12-14 stations are set up and the students rotate from station to station. The students are at each station for 2 minutes. We try to make the stations fun but functional and are designed to improve fitness levels.
